Fig Jam Kitchen & Bar To Relocate to 12th & Midtown

Tuesday, March 12, 2013 2

Globally Inspired American Restaurant to Open Early Fall 2013

The 12th & Midtown development team of Selig Enterprises, Daniel Corp. and partner Northwestern Mutual are pleased to announce that Fig Jam Kitchen & Bar will soon add its classic fare with a modern twist to the growing list of internationally inspired restaurants in the fast-growing mixed-use development district on Atlanta’s Midtown Mile. Fig Jam will relocate from Brookwood Place on Peachtree Street and open early fall 2013 at 77 12th, a 23-story mixed-use tower consisting of 330 luxury one-and-two-bedroom apartment homes atop more than 20,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space.

"Fig Jam is a creative and unique dining destination in Atlanta, and we are honored to bring it to 12th & Midtown," said Shirley Gouffon, senior vice president of Selig Enterprises. “Our dining component showcases international cuisine, and Fig Jam perfectly exemplifies that with a new American menu that is local and authentic, yet internationally inspired.”

“We are excited about the new 12th & Midtown location because we feel our concept fits with the neighborhood, and the area is becoming very metropolitan with great diversity,” said Costanzo Astarita, Fig Jam Kitchen & Bar partner.

The new Fig Jam space will consist of 2,000 square feet, creating a more intimate and romantic experience for diners than the previous Brookwood location. Fresh, locally sourced and seasonally changing ingredients will be the focus of an approachable, American menu with global influences, with dynamic options to appeal to the Midtown audience.

Fig Jam will join 12th & Midtown’s current restaurants, including STK, Cucina Asellina, Ri Ra Irish Pub, RA Sushi, Mi Cocina and Piola; Café Intermezzo, Taco Diner, Tabla and Panera Bread are slated to open later this year.

Pasta da Pulcinella Review

Thursday, February 28, 2013 4
To sum up what I am about to write: AVOID THIS PLACE. I am not going to go into detail about how rude their waitstaff is but it ruined our entire meal. No matter how good their food is, I doubt you want to get yelled at by your waiter when you leave a 15% tip in front of the whole restaurant. The waitstaff is disrespectful and does the bare minimum to serve you. After leaving a 15% tip (even after horrible service), the waiter proceeded to flick me off in the restaurant before yelling at our table. The manager who was standing only 2 feet away also chose to ignore his waiter's actions and never reprimanded him or apologized to our table.
You may look on their Facebook and see great reviews and think I am in the wrong. Well I had a feeling they erase any negative review they may have so I took a screenshot of my review. Sure enough, this morning my post is gone from their Facebook.

I advise you to avoid this place. You will enjoy your meal but the service will ruin it. Avoid bringing friends, family or visitors from out of town because you will be embarrassed by the waiters that you chose a place like this to bring the people you love...unless you like seeing the people you love get yelled at with insults.
