Braves Pub Crawl - Opening Weekend in Midtown

Are you as excited about the 2011 Atlanta Braves season as I am? The Braves Fans Pub Crawl will be taking over Midtown at 12th and Crescent Saturday April 9th at 6pm and bringing all of those in support of the MLB's best team - the Atlanta Braves!

We'll start out in the Dugout (Deadwood Saloon) where we'll be handing out lineup cards (full Pub Crawl schedule). Every hour the Pub Crawl moves to a walkable location in Midtown including Sutra, CosmoLava, Flip Flops and more! Whether you've got a red Heyward jersey or just a Braves ballcap, wear your favorite Braves attire to be eligible for great prizes during the crawl!

Included as part of the Pub Crawl is a free specialty shot and Drink & Beer Specials at each of the 5 locations.

Ticket Price increase: Monday, April 4th. Bring your ticket stub from either Friday (4/8) or Saturday's Braves game for discount entry at the door!

Putting Bad Bridesmaid Dresses to Good Use

WHAT: Deadwood Saloon and Maid of (Dis)Honor Blane Bachelor, Atlanta author and syndicated advice columnist, are hosting the First Annual Ugly Bridesmaid Dress Bar Crawl on Saturday, September 25. This unique event gives women the opportunity to show off their ugliest bridesmaid dress and party with their girlfriends in honor of National Singles Week (week of September 20).
The evening begins at 7 p.m. at Deadwood Saloon where guests can register for the bar crawl and great prizes. At this time, bar crawlers can also meet Blane Bachelor and get a copy of her new book, On Being a Bachelor: Thoughts on Dating, Mating and Relating (purchase an advance copy at www.askabachelor.com). ; Deadwood Saloon will offer food and drink specials throughout the night to anyone wearing a bridesmaid dress. The bar crawl continues to the following Midtown locations, all of which will offer drink specials throughout the evening to those dressed in bridesmaid attire:

Those participating in the bar crawl will want to head back to Deadwood by 10 p.m. for prize drawings that include a signed copy of Blane’s book, Deadwood gift certificates and more. New To Midtown: Deadwood Saloon

Deadwood Saloon sits in the heart of Midtown where the former Twisted Taco was located on 12th Street! To begin with, I never realized Twisted Taco closed until I drove by the other day and realized it was vacant! Now sits a similar restaurant called Deadwood Saloon. At first glance, it looks like Twisted Taco pretty much just renamed their restaurant so I have been trying to figure out what is the deal with this "new" restaurant.

Their menu differs greatly to the old Twisted Taco and offers a unique atmosphere featuring fresh, fire grilled foods and good times! Appetizers include cut onion rings, queso con carne, fried pickles with chipotle ranch dipping sauce, blue cheese chips and more ($5-$8). Salads include cranberry pecan chicken salad; grilled, fried or buffalo-style chicken salad; blackened chicken or salmon Caesar salad; or the chef or Cobb salads ($8-$9). Specialties include country fried pork chops, Bulleit Bourbon chicken, chipotle penne and Southwest chicken Alfredo ($9-$13). You can also build your own burger by choosing a beef, turkey, salmon or veggie burger or a chicken breast; your kind of bun and cheese; and among traditional and premium toppings such as roasted chili avocado salsa ($8-$9). They also have 11 kinds of house burgers to choose from including the Wild West burger topped with fried onions, BBQ sauce, bacon and cheddar cheese; the California burger with avocado salsa; the Deadwood served blackened and topped with fried onion rings, blue cheese, lettuce and tomato; the turkey Cobb burger with blue cheese, bacon and avocado; the Southwest turkey burger and the roasted red pepper veggie burger on multigrain bread ($8-$9).
