Pasta da Pulcinella Review

Thursday, February 28, 2013 3
To sum up what I am about to write: AVOID THIS PLACE. I am not going to go into detail about how rude their waitstaff is but it ruined our entire meal. No matter how good their food is, I doubt you want to get yelled at by your waiter when you leave a 15% tip in front of the whole restaurant. The waitstaff is disrespectful and does the bare minimum to serve you. After leaving a 15% tip (even after horrible service), the waiter proceeded to flick me off in the restaurant before yelling at our table. The manager who was standing only 2 feet away also chose to ignore his waiter's actions and never reprimanded him or apologized to our table.
You may look on their Facebook and see great reviews and think I am in the wrong. Well I had a feeling they erase any negative review they may have so I took a screenshot of my review. Sure enough, this morning my post is gone from their Facebook.

I advise you to avoid this place. You will enjoy your meal but the service will ruin it. Avoid bringing friends, family or visitors from out of town because you will be embarrassed by the waiters that you chose a place like this to bring the people you love...unless you like seeing the people you love get yelled at with insults.

Passport to Puppetry Library Loan Program Launches Statewide

Wednesday, February 13, 2013 0

Check out the Center for Puppetry Arts Museum Pass at any Participating Public Library in Georgia

Georgia families can now pay a free visit to Big Bird, the Fraggles, Wayland Flowers’ Madame, and a host of other popular puppet characters by using a library card.

Thanks to a new partnership between the Center for Puppetry Arts and Georgia’s Public Libraries, citizens with valid library cards can check out the Center’s new “Passport to Puppetry” at any participating public library in all 159 Georgia counties.

The “Passport to Puppetry” is valid for up to four free museum admissions—a potential savings of up to $33 per family. Parties with children must include at least one adult. The museum provides educational fun with more than 350 puppets from around the world, highlighting the fact that every civilization on our planet has its own unique form of puppetry tradition. By examining and learning more about the cultural traditions of other countries, one gains a greater understanding of our shared histories and values.

“We strive to be accessible to anyone who wishes to avail themselves of our programming and welcome this opportunity to partner with the Georgia Public Library Service,” said Vincent Anthony, the Center’s founding Executive Director. “Whether you’re an elementary, high, or college student; parent, toddler, or senior citizen, we endeavor to provide access to many different activities thereby gaining a greater understanding of our shared cultural heritage. After a visit, we hope that you understand that puppetry is not just for kids: it's for everyone.”

The museum at the Center for Puppetry Arts is open Tuesdays through Sundays with hours varying upon day and programming. In addition to four free admissions, the “Passport to Puppetry” also entitles library patrons to attend a performance at the Center and/or participate in a Create-a-Puppet Workshop at a 25% discount, when space is available. Complete details, including valid dates, show times, hours of operation, and reservation information are available online at www.puppet.org.

“This wonderful collaboration between the Center for Puppetry Arts and Georgia’s public libraries brings an even greater dimension and value to our ever-growing list of services,” said Dr. Lamar Veatch, Georgia’s state librarian. “We are thrilled for our libraries to offer this entertaining educational opportunity to citizens in every corner of our state.”

Visit www.puppet.org/museum/galibrarypassport.shtml for full details on accessing and how to use the "Passport to Puppetry," or visit your local Georgia public library for more information. All public libraries in Georgia are participating in this program.

Marlow's Tavern Brings The Big Easy To Atlanta

Tuesday, February 12, 2013 0

Atlanta’s favorite neighborhood restaurant, Marlow’s Tavern, is bringing NOLA to ATL with its annual “Bayou ‘n Bourbon” menu full of cuisine from the Deep South. Starting on Tuesday, February 12 through Monday, March 25, all Atlanta-area tavern locations are featuring the menu full of jazzed up dishes and classic cocktails that will take diners taste buds on a trip to the Big Easy.
“The flavors of New Orleans are distinct and irresistible, much like the chef-driven food and hand-crafted cocktails found on our everyday menu,” says John C. Metz, executive chef and co-founder of Marlow’s Tavern. “We want our guests to experience Louisiana cooking with a Marlow’s twist,” he adds.
The “Bayou ‘n Bourbon” menu includes the following dishes which are offered daily for lunch and dinner through the next six weeks:

·         Roast chicken and shrimp gumbo - a Louisiana tradition with a Marlow’s twist (6.5)

  • Fiery crawfish fondue – a rich, creamy blend of crawfish, Gruyere cheese, fresh herbs and spices served with ciabatta crostini  (9)

  • Honey Jack chicken and Andouille flatbread – blackened Prestige Farms chicken, spicy andouille sausage, caramelized red onion and pepper jack cheese with sweet and spicy Honey Jack on crisp flatbread  (9.5)

  • “Nawlins-style” po’boy - tempura battered shrimp and crawfish, sweet slaw, shredded lettuce, Roma tomato and smoked chili cream on a soft Cuban roll (12.5)

  • Bayou burger - fresh ground beef all “jazzed up” with andouille sausage, cheddar cheese, crawdaddies, lettuce, Roma tomato, red onion and house-made Creole remoulade on a toasted onion roll (12)

  • Deconstructed jambalaya - grilled Prestige Farms chicken, andouille sausage, house-made dirty rice and traditional crawfish Creole sauce (14)

  • Sweet Bourbon St. rib-eye - blackened Jack Daniels honey-blazed rib-eye served with tiny asparagus and a crispy sweet potato cake (26)

A Bourbon Street meal is not complete without a sweet treat. Marlow’s offers honey bourbon bread pudding, made with honey and vanilla crème brûlée, soaked ciabatta and a splash of Jack Daniel’s Honey (7) to round out the Louisiana inspired meal.
Guests will need to hold on to their beads while enjoying Marlow’s spirited take on classic New Orleans-style cocktails and drinks:
  • “Pat’s” Marlow’s Hurricane – a New Orleans tradition borrowed from Pat O’Brien’s with Bacardi light rum, fresh orange juice and a floater of Bacardi 151 (8)

  • Ramos Gin Fizz – Van Gogh dry gin, house-made sour, light cream and orange flower water, shaken 50 times until frothy and served icy (8.5)

  • Cajun Cosmo – Absolut Mango and Pepper, cranberry, triple sec and fresh lime (9)

  • Abita Restoration – the Louisiana “home brew” with intense hops partners perfectly for spicy Cajun dishes (5.5)
